The 2024 Pudong Festival of Culture & Art will kick off on April 18, which marks the 34th anniversary for the development and opening-up of Pudong New Area in Shanghai.

This is the 13th installment of the festival since it was founded in 2011. To be held until the end of July, the festival will feature colorful events and theater shows, such as Si Shi Tong Tang, or Four Generations under One Roof, one of the most renowned repertoire by the National Theatre of China, The Ninth Year of Yonghe, a dance theater production featuring Chinese calligraphy by Shanghai Opera House, and a popular children's theater show Cats in the Palace Museum.

This year's festival will introduce 5,000 low-priced tickets at 80 yuan, enabling members of the public to theaters and other cultural venues such as the Bocom New Bund 31 Performing Arts Center, Shanghai Oriental Art Center and Shanghai Oriental Sports Center.

Another 1,000 tickets will be given for free to construction workers, sanitation workers, medical workers, volunteers and so on.
